The University of Bergamo is a State University with more than 18,000 students, located in Lombardy – a region in Northern Italy renowned for its industrial fervor with one of the highest GDP pro capita in Europe. The teaching and research activities are organized through 7 departments and its campuses of Economics and Law, Humanities, and Engineering are strictly intertwined in the town life. Knowledge Transfer and Internationalisation are the key strategic pillars of the University, which is strongly focused on the topics of Smart and Human-centered Manufacturing. Its School of Engineering carries out research in the fields of manufacturing technologies, production systems, ICT, design, mechatronics, and advanced materials; the School includes two Departments and several research labs, characterized by a strong multidisciplinary trait and a tight collaboration with the industrial fabric, while also displaying an entrepreneurial approach.
